Getting a taxi from o’hare airport in Chicago can be quite confusing if you don’t know what or how the process works. There are 2 types of taxi services available at O’hare and Midway airports. You have city cabs which can be used to go to the city or the suburbs. The city cabs are available at the airport when you walk out of baggage claim. You will have to wait in a line to get in the next available taxicab. If you take a city cab from O’hare or Midway to the suburbs you will not be able to get a flat rate taxi and will have to pay the metered rate. City cabs charge the metered rate until $20, after that you will pay the meter and half.
